As part of NCFE’s longstanding support of The Campaign for learning we will be sponsoring their 2013/2014 policy seminar series.
The Campaign's policy seminars run approximately every fortnight from September to July. They bring senior policymakers face to face with analysts and senior practitioners for in-depth examination of policy developments and to analyse in detail the implications for the education and training system. All of the seminars are held under the Chatham House Rule which supports open discussion and debate. Presenters regularly comment that the seminars offer a valuable opportunity to test out their thinking and understand in detail the implications of policy changes for the field, while participants greatly value the chance to debate issues in detail and the chance to influence policy development directly. The sessions cover all aspects of education and skills policy and linked agendas such as welfare to work, employment and the economy.
The next seminars will take place at the Campaign for Learning’s London office at Victoria on 9 and 13 December. On 9 December there will be two seminars looking across the board at education, skills and employment. The first will consider implications of the Spending Review 2013. The second, 'What the political parties are saying', will look at current and emerging policy stances of the main parties as the general election draws nearer. Finally for this year, on 13 December NCFE’s Futures Leader Paul Turner will be joining us to look in detail at the Whitehead Review of vocational qualifications and what it will mean for learners, providers and awarding bodies.
