Learning for Work supports NCFE’s new qualification in the prevention and control of infection

Tuesday 25 June 2013

The Health and Social Care sector is a growing industry with more demand for jobs and experience than ever before.  To help learners gain this valuable experience and to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to enter specific roles, NCFE has expanded its suite of qualifications to include the new Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings, supported by learning materials from Learning for Work.

The qualification is already on the SFA approved list for funding and is expected to stimulate a significant amount of interest from learners either working or wanting to work within both the Health Care and Facilities Management sectors.

A wide variety of healthcare is delivered in primary and community care settings. Healthcare associated infections arise across a wide range of clinical conditions and can affect patients of all ages. Healthcare workers, family members and carers are also at risk of acquiring infections when caring for patients.

This programme covers topics that are fundamental to the prevention and control of infection.  It’s designed to increase awareness in the importance of prevention and control of infection and covers current legislation and gives examples of best practice.

Learning for Work is the only NCFE approved publisher to have produced learning materials available for this qualification.
