The NCFE Level 2 Award for Preparing to Work in the Cruise and Passenger Shipping Industry (601/0245/7) has been developed to replace the withdrawn NCFE Level 2 Award in Introduction to the Passenger Shipping Industry (600/1330/8).
The qualification has been developed in response to feedback from our centres running the previous course, and has been designed to meet their needs. The units have been simplified so that centres have greater flexibility in the way they run the course, which is now more focused on cruise ships in particular. We have also increased the Guided Learning Hours in response to this feedback. You can view the full qualification specification here.
The qualification is a must for learners who desire to work in the cruise and passenger shipping industry due to its thorough and in-depth coverage of the industry. It would also be ideal for learners who are looking to continue their studies in travel and tourism, or for students who wish to formalise and develop their existing experience and skills.
Students are taught about the key areas of the cruise and passenger shipping industry in-depth, and will also learn how to tailor their CVs and covering letters to a job in the industry, ensuring they are ahead of the competition when they begin to enter the world of work. The qualification is unique and prepares learners for work in the cruise ship industry like no other.
There are many opportunities for advancement, as learners who take this course can progress onto other qualifications such as:
• NCFE Level 2 Diploma in the Principles of Travel and Tourism (600/0305/4)
• NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Cabin Crew (600/0474/5)
• NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Aviation Operations on the Ground (Knowledge) (501/1281/8)
