The following qualifications* have been extended until December 2016.
- NCFE Level 2 Diploma In Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (501/2318/X)
- NCFE Level 2 Diploma In Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (Adults with Learning Disabilities (501/2318/X/ALD)
- NCFE Level 2 Diploma In Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (Dementia) (501/2318/X/DEM)
There are no changes to the title, content or structure of the qualifications, so please continue to use the existing qualification specification (issue 2, June 2013) with your learners. The qualification specification is available to download by clicking on the qualification links above and selecting the ‘Support Material’ tab.
Please note that the regulation and certification end dates for these qualifications have changed to the following dates:
- the regulation end date for the qualifications is now 31 December 2016, so this is the final date we can receive and process your learner registrations
- the new certification end date is 31 December 2018 so this is the final date we can produce full and partial certificates for your learners. We cannot accept or process any claims after this date. If you have any questions about this please contact your Centre Support Assistant here at NCFE.
Stand-alone unit programmes
There are 12 stand-alone unit programmes which are part of these qualifications that will also be extended until 31 December 2016:
- Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings (H/601/5474/UNIT)
- Introduction to equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings (R/601/5471/UNIT)
- Introduction to communication in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings (F/601/5465/UNIT)
- Introduction to personal development in health, social care or children's and young people’s settings (L/601/5470/UNIT)
- Administer medication to individuals, and monitor the effects (Y/501/0598/UNIT)
- Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care (A/601/8574/UNIT)
- Enable rights and choices of individuals with dementia whilst minimising risks (A/601/9191/UNIT)
- Equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care practice (F/601/4686/UNIT)
- Understand the role of communication and interactions with individuals who have dementia (L/601/3539/UNIT)
- Understand the diversity of individuals with dementia and the importance of inclusion (Y/601/3544/UNIT)
- Understand and enable interaction and communication with individuals who have dementia (Y/601/4693/UNIT)
- Support individuals with specific communication needs (T/601/8282/UNIT)
