We’ve now received confirmation from the Department for Education (DfE) on which qualifications will feature in the 2017 Key Stage 4 performance tables.
To help you, we wanted to give you an update on the new Key Stage 4 list and confirm which NCFE qualifications will feature within the 2017 tables.
Firstly there are 2 brand new Level 2 V Certs on the list for 2017. These are:
- Level 2 Certificate in Health and Fitness (601/4534/1)
- Level 2 Certificate in Food and Cookery (601/4533/X)
The new Level 2 V Certs will be available for approval from January 2015 with registrations available from 1 September 2015.
We’ve also submitted a Level 1 qualification in the subjects above, but we won’t find out whether these have been approved until January 2015.

Our submission to the DfE to have the brand new Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Studies (601/4532/8) included in the 2017 Key Stage 4 tables has also been reviewed and we’re working with them to find out how we can also get this qualification approved.
We’ll keep you posted on the progress but in the meantime you can get the latest list of approved V Certs for 2015, 2016 and 2017 below. Don’t forget too that we’ve also a number of other Level 1 and 3 qualifications that count in the Key Stage 4 & 5 performance tables.
DfE have allocated provisional discounting codes for qualifications counting in the 2017 tables. These are available to view in RAISEonline under ‘Further details of the revised performance tables qualifications, discount rules and early entry guidance from 2014’.
Please have a look at these and if you feel that any of the provisional codes should be amended, then you’ll need to contact the Department following the process set out in the spreadsheet.
Please note that we expect full confirmation of further Level 1 qualifications in January 2015 and we'll be publishing information on which of these will be included within the 2017 tables very soon.
