New qualifications in Job Search and Employment Potential

Wednesday 30 April 2014

We’ve developed the following new QCF qualifications which are now live:

Funding eligibility
These qualifications all appear on Section 96 and therefore are eligible for funding for learners aged 16-18. We are currently working with the SFA to try and secure funding for 19+ but this is unfortunately not currently available. We’ll update you as soon as we have further information.

Target audience
These qualifications are suitable for learners aged 16 and above who are looking to increase their employment potential. They aim to improve the learner’s job search methods by exploring recruitment methods and job goals.

Important information
These qualifications support and expand on the suite of Reed NCFE qualifications already available. They offer new content relating to business start-up, resilience and lateral thinking. Centres that complete the mandatory REED NCFE training will receive free learning resources to support these qualifications. There are also free optional online resources to support the delivery and assessment of the mandatory units in these qualifications. Centres can access these via the NCFE Learning Hub.

Progression
Learners who achieve one of these qualifications could progress to:

  • NCFE Level 2 and 3 Certificates in Job Search and Employability Skills
  • NCFE Level 3 Award in Job Search and Interview Skills
  • NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Developing Enterprise Skills
  • Sustained, paid employment.

Approval and DCS information
Centres that currently have approval and/or DCS for NCFE Job Search and Employability Skills or NCFE Job Search and Interview Skills will receive automatic approval and their DCS transferred.
