As part of Ofqual’s approach to Risk Based Regulation and in an effort to remove confusion within the sector, regarding regulated and unregulated qualifications, Ofqual has been scrutinising the availability of unregulated provision in sectors or subject areas where awarding organisations currently offer regulated qualifications.
To make sure NCFE complies with these new requirements we have undertaken a full review of our Accreditation Services. As a result of this review, we’d like to inform you that the National Partnership Award (NPA) NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Diabetes Awareness (NP306) is affected by the new Risk Based Regulation arrangements and will consequently need to be withdrawn and replaced by NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding the Care and Management of Diabetes which is now available on the QCF.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience that the withdrawal of this NPA may cause, however, we’d like to reassure you that we have not taken this decision lightly.
The operational end date of this NPA is 28 November 2014 so the last date for registrations is Friday 28 November 2014. If this causes any problems for your centre please let me know.
Please make sure that if you intend to register any learners on this NPA, you do so before this date. After this date, the NPA will no longer be available, and we’ll be unable to accept registrations.
Any learners registered before this date will have until the certification end date 28 November 2016 to complete their course and claim certificates. This includes learners who have a credit certificate who want to complete the full qualification and claim a full certificate. We cannot accept or process any claims after this date. If you have any questions about this please contact your Centre Support Assistant here at NCFE.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience the withdrawal of this qualification may cause.
