In the New Year we’ll be redeveloping the following V Certs:
- Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Art and Design
- Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Graphic Design
- Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Interactive Media
- Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Performance Skills
- Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Creative Studies: Craft
- Level 1 and 2 Certificate in Business and Enterprise
- Level 3 Certificate in Creative Studies: Art and Design
We’re looking for teaching staff to take part in these developments to ensure that we create qualifications that meet the needs of both your centre and your learners. This would typically involve 2 development days and 1 review day at our office in Newcastle for which we would pay expenses and cover costs during term time or pay teachers directly if during holidays or weekends. There may be the opportunity to undertake additional remote work.
We recently developed our new Level 1, 2 and 3 Music Technology V Certs and got the following feedback from the teachers involved:
‘I teach the Music Technology V Cert course and felt that I had some good ideas that would improve the course. I voiced my views during a feedback session in York and they recommended that I get involved with new course development initiatives. Everyone in the NCFE team was very open to my ideas. They were very friendly and did a great job at taking my ideas and putting them into a structure that made sense to NCFE. I really felt like I was making a difference and adding value to the course. I looked at qualification development sessions as opportunities to develop my CV and make myself more marketable… another big incentive for me was earning addition income. With two little children at home and a wife who works part-time, earning extra income sat very high on my list of priorities.’
‘As a teacher you rarely get the opportunity to contribute to the development of a qualification. I think it was great to have the point of view of the person who has to deliver the qualification heard. I have always felt that from a teacher perspective NCFE has been great to deal with.’
We’ll be holding an event in York on 15 December 2015 for any teaching staff that may be interested in finding our more about working with NCFE and our new style V Certs. The session will look at:
- why we’re redeveloping/developing our V Certs
- our new style V Certs
- how we develop our V Certs
- feedback on our existing V Certs
We’ll be running 2 sessions during the day, both at the Best Western Dean Court Hotel in York.
Session 1: 9 – 12, followed by lunch
Performance Skills, Interactive Media and Graphic Design
Session 2: 1 – 4, with lunch at 12
