We just want to give you the goods news that the following qualifications have been approved by the DfE for GCSE equivalency and headline performance points in the 2017 tables:
- NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Health and Fitness (601/4662/X)
- NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Engineering Studies (601/4592/4)
- NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Food and Cookery (601/4661/8)
- NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Health and Fitness (601/4534/1)
- NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Studies (601/4532/8)
- NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Food and Cookery (601/4533/X)
Aimed at Key Stages 3 and 4, these qualifications can provide pupils with a wide range of benefits including:
- hands on practical learning opportunities
- project based assessment
- development of vocational skills
- gaining a real understanding of professional practice in each relevant sector
- opportunities to develop and demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills building confidence.

These new V Cert qualifications will go live in September 2015 and are available for approval now.
