The recognition of mental health conditions as true illnesses is more common now than ever, but there’s still a lack of understanding around conditions like depression and anxiety – the two most commonly diagnosed problems.

What does the future hold for Technical and Professional Education?

Here at NCFE we’re anticipating the forthcoming publication of the skills white paper which will, in part, include the findings of the Sainsbury Review of Technical and Professional Education (TPE).   Although this wasn’t referenced in the Queen’s Speech on 18 May as expected, rumours are that the final recommendations and report will be published at some point later, before the EU referendum Purdah begins on 27 May.



Visitors to the North Sea Tall Ships Regatta Blyth 2016 this summer will be able to navigate around the county using a taxi service with a difference. Active Northumberland and Northumberland College have set up a new training scheme, which will help taxi drivers boost their skills and knowledge to become ‘chauffeur guides’.
