An important milestone for V Certs

Firstly, welcome back after the Easter break! An important milestone in your annual school calendar, I’m sure. No doubt a busy term lays ahead for you and your school. To support you with the delivery of all NCFE qualifications, we’ll look forward to continuing to support you with our award winning service during this busy time.

Last term NCFE also hit a very important milestone. But before I go into that I’d like to give a little bit of context. In September 2013 we saw the first Year 11 pupils begin their V Cert studies with NCFE. As a new range of qualifications designed to respond to the Department for Education (DfE) performance table we were certain of their value to you and your pupils.

But of course with anything new, comes uncertainty, the need for guidance and crucially the need to listen. So we’ve worked with many of you to help explain how the V Certs work as well as signposting the growing range of support resources on our website. Many of these resources have been created as a result of direct feedback from you, our customers. Thank you!

It’s extremely pleasing to see so many schools embracing V Certs. In fact, since we launched the first V Certs in 2013, over 10,000 pupils have started the qualifications. For a brand new qualification in uncertain times this is a significant milestone and one we’re pleased to announce.

But we aren’t resting on our laurels and we’ll continue to work with you, our customers to ensure that all our qualifications are supported in the best way possible whilst also continuing to meet the standards set by the DfE and Ofqual.

Our other big milestone this year of course has been the approval of our 3 new V Cert subjects for the 2017 performance tables. The subjects are Health & Fitness, Food & Cookery and Engineering.
