It’s a new academic year which marks a new start for many. But what about those learners who aren’t quite ready to take on an Apprenticeship or start work but need a little extra support to prepare them for their future? And what about the learners who are still a little lost as to which road to take?

Traineeships are short periods of training and work experience designed for these learners. The flexibility of Traineeships offers employers the opportunity to help build a pool of high quality future recruits for their sector and they’re an ideal opportunity for young people, aged 16-24, who are motivated to get a job but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for.

NCFE’s unique and fundable Traineeship offer includes a variety of programmes in a range of industry sectors, supported by free learning resources. You can create a mix and match package allowing you to tailor your programmes to individual learners with the option of using NCFE’s Accreditation Services to accredit your own in-house training.

NCFE’s qualifications in Occupational Studies are particularly useful within Traineeship programmes as they allow learners to try out roles in a range of different employment sectors such as construction, retail or sport and can be tailored to each learner.

These qualifications also have units in social and personal development and employability skills, which would cover the ‘work preparation’ element of the Traineeship programme and help your learners to make the daunting leap from education to the workplace.

Check out our website for our sample Traineeship programmes in Occupational Studies and contact our Business Development Team, who will support you in creating a programme which fits your cohort of learners.
