We’re delighted to announce that we’ve joined the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), a membership body which comprises the eight, now nine, largest providers of qualifications in the UK.

JCQ undertakes a wide range of activities on behalf of its members including consulting with stakeholders, government departments, teacher unions, professional associations, and further and higher education. JCQ publishes advice, guidance and regulations for delivering examinations assessments.

Esme Winch, Managing Director, NCFE said:

“We’re thrilled to be part of the JCQ. At NCFE we believe in the importance of education to transform people’s lives and being part of a network such as the JCQ will help us to reach even more learners, and play a larger part in key discussions and decisions about the future of education in the UK.

“We look forward to working with the other JCQ members and are committed to being an active voice and champion for technical education in the JCQ community.”

Michael Turner, Director General of JCQ said:

“NCFE is a well-established and highly regarded awarding body and it is great news they are now members of JCQ. Their experience and knowledge of the vocational sector will strengthen our collective voice and I look forward to their views forming part of ours.

“Importantly, NCFE is aligned to our core principles of reducing the examination burden on schools and colleges, maintaining fair and robust systems and contributing to the debate at a policy and operational level.”

NCFE is the first new member to join in over 10 years and we look forward to being part of a dynamic community of organisations that takes part in and leads conversations about the future of education in the UK.
