Study Programmes were introduced by the government in order to improve progression into higher education and skilled employment. Study Programmes are designed for 16 to 19 year old learners and it requires them to demonstrate progression, take part in work experience and study maths and English to Level 2 if they haven’t previously.

This month 1 new qualification has gone live, 22 qualifications have been extended and 1 qualification has been withdrawn.

We’ve recently done a viability exercise with our qualifications and we’ve made a decision to withdraw some of our qualifications that are less popular. These withdrawals will be happening over the next year

As plans for next year’s curriculum start to come together, we wanted to update you on some recent positive qualification developments with regards to the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and their funding catalogue for 2014-15.

We’ve already reported on a number of successes and we’re pleased to let you know that we’ve got great news!

We’d like to inform you that the following qualifications are expiring on 31 December 2014:

• NCFE Entry Level Award in Exploring Enterprise Skills (Entry 3) (600/1798/3)
• NCFE Entry Level Award in Demonstrating Enterprise Skills (Entry 3) (600/1797/1)
• NCFE Level 1 Award in Exploring Enterprise Skills (500/8446/X)
• NCFE Level 1 Award in Demonstrating Enterprise Skills (500/8444/6)
• NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Developing Enterprise Skills (500/8443/4)
• NCFE Level 2 Award in Developing Enterprise Skills (500/8445/8)

We’d like to inform you that the following qualification is expiring on 31 January 2015:

• NCFE Level 3 Award in Managing Diversity (500/8313/2)

The following stand-alone unit programme will also expire on 31 January 2015:

• Managing your money (Y/600/9879/UNIT)
